What is GuestGesture?

GuestGesture is a luxury gift and gesture service for both sides of the door — the guest arriving with something, and the host welcoming whoever's coming. We read the listing the way a returning guest would, propose a gesture from a curated catalog of luxury brands — Aesop, Byredo, Le Labo, Diptyque — and a real hand places it before the guest arrives. Not a gift basket service. No cellophane.

How much does a GuestGesture arrival gift cost?

Build a curated box — Threshold at $80 (a card and something edible), Considered at $140 (the parcel, the scent, the card), or Appointed at $220 (book, playlist, drawn map, the walk) — or shop luxury houses à la carte: Le Creuset and Byredo direct from the house, others sourced, shipped or placed by hand. Bespoke with no ceiling for milestones and special occasions.

How much lead time does GuestGesture need?

72 hours standard. 48 hours workable. 24 hours on the East Coast only with a small fee. Under 24 hours we politely decline.

Where does GuestGesture place arrival gifts?

Domestic United States, with reliable placement in Hudson Valley NY, Charleston SC, Kennebunkport ME, Aspen CO, the Hamptons NY, Big Sur CA, and Lake Tahoe CA/NV. Lower 48 via courier from the closest depot. International by request — including Todos Santos, Lisbon, and London.

A real person. GuestGesture coordinates entry before check-in and physically stages the threshold — the inside of the room before the guest walks in. This is not a mail order service. The parcel is placed by hand.

Can I send a gift to a vacation rental I don't own?

Yes. The gifter door is for guests sending a considered arrival to someone staying at a villa, hotel, or short-term rental — a weekend at a friend's, a stay you didn't pay for, a new baby, a houseguest. Send a gesture at guestgesture.com/gift.

What makes GuestGesture different from a gift basket service?

GuestGesture is not a gift basket service. No cellophane, no branded bow, no fruit. We read the specific listing and propose a gesture calibrated to that property and that guest type. A real person physically stages it before check-in. The brands are luxury tier — Aesop, Byredo, Creed — not generic. The difference is curation versus assembly.

About Proraso

Founded in Florence by Ludovico Martelli in 1908. In 1948, his son Piero invented the Pre-Shave Cream — now the category-defining product. How we place Proraso

Proraso objects ship in their original packaging, placed at the relevant position in the space — bath counter, nightstand, kitchen, or mantel — the night before or morning of arrival. We include a handwritten card on Pineider stock. The placement fee is absorbed in the tier price: Threshold $80, Considered $140, Appointed $220.
